Eleanor Roosevelt said, “Do one thing every day that scares you.”
How does this apply to marketing communications efforts? If you aren’t trying new things and putting yourself out there – like writing that blog post AND publishing it – even though you’re scared there’ll be a typo (there will be), someone won’t like it (someone won’t), you’ll grow and in a year see things differently (that would be a GOOD thing!) – you’re standing still. Standing still gets you nowhere.
With that in mind, today I’m publishing this website. There’ll be kinks to work out, pages to add (services, about), CSS and HTML issues, blog posts, an about page, etc. But the truth is – even though it’s scary and I don’t feel quite ready to publish the site – I may never feel it’s quite ready and by taking this step – making it live – I’m doing one thing today that scares me. Which translates to growth, moving forward, making progress, overcoming my fear that it’s not quite good enough and going live anyway.
Here we go!
